Snow Damaged Spouting

Snow damaged spouting can be a simple repair or in some situations a full replacement. At Clearwater Spouting we have fixed hundreds of snow damaged spouting systems so we have come across every situation.

In some cases it is simply straightening the spouting by adding some new brackets. In a lot of situations where colorsteel fascia is used the snow load can pull the fascia away as well and usually we can reattach the fascia by lifting the roof and re clipping it back in.As long as the spouting or fascia has not actually been dented we can normally re use the existing material with maybe some new brackets, but if the material has been compromised it is best to re new the spouting and we can normally match the colour and profile of your existing installation.

Usually steep pitched roofs with long run colorsteel seem to cause the worst damage, we highly recommend that we install snow straps which attach from the top of the spouting to the roof to add strength to the system.Other options include installing a metal screen which not only adds strength but also stops leaves, birds and rodents entering the system.

In high snow areas a snow board can be installed near the bottom of the roof which then takes the main weight of the snow instead of the spouting.
