Rainwater Harvesting

Rainwater harvesting systems allow collection of rainwater from your roof through your spouting installation into rainwater collection tanks for further use and re-use .

We have a large range of rainwater harvesting tanks available for the storage of  rainwater from as small as 600 litres to 30,000 litres stored above ground, the upper limit is boundless and includes bladder tanks for use under homes, underground storm water retention tanks at 30,000 litres each which can be connected to each other the only constraint being space available.

Clearwater Spouting have been installing rainwater harvesting systems in the Canterbury area for over 3 years now. Our installations have ranged from simple 600 litre town house systems upto 30,000 litre rural systems.

To calculate the approximate amount of rainwater you are likely to harvest, use the following formula:   RA x RF x 0.9 RA = Roof area in square metres, RF = Rainfall in mm, 0.9 = Amount of total rainwater you would expect to harvest. The average 3 bedroom home roof is 150m2, in Christchurch the average rainfall  is about 650mm eg: 150 m2 x 650 mm rainfall x 0.9 = 87,750 litres enough to flush the average NZ toilet 13,700 times.
